Celebrity A7 owner - Stuart Joseph - 02-08-2020 Good morning. According to yesterday's Daily Mail Nick Hewer ex Apprentice and presenter of Countdown owns a 1931 Swallow and a 1936 Opal. I know that David Steele the politician owned one but what other well known people have been smitten by the A7 bug? Regards from the creative county - Staffordshire Stuart RE: Celebrity A7 owner - Jeff Taylor - 02-08-2020 I believe Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac has one - he lives on the island of Maui, Hawaii, I think the A7's there too. RE: Celebrity A7 owner - Malcolm Parker - 02-08-2020 I think the less celebrity owners of Austin 7's the better! When certain marques gain celebrity status I tend to lose interest. Look how Goodwood Festival of Speed has become little more than a Fashion Show for the rich and famous. Anyway, we have enough of our own celebrities within the Forum! RE: Celebrity A7 owner - Martin Prior - 02-08-2020 What is a celebrity anyway? As an Equity card holding (notionally) professional actor, can I join the 95% of "Celebrities" that I've never heard of? With you all the way Malcolm RE: Celebrity A7 owner - Jeff Taylor - 02-08-2020 Further to my earlier post re Mick Fleetwood's A7 - apparently it's called 'Lettuce Leaf' ! The registration appears to be OY 4892 - it's not on the A7CA Chassis Register but is on the DVLA database as 'Not taxed for on road use'. https://autojumble.world/stars-cars-mick-fleetwoods-austin-7/ https://longreads.com/2014/09/23/understanding-mick-fleetwood-by-the-story-of-his-car-lettuce-leaf/ https://www.express.co.uk/comment/expresscomment/465070/Mick-Fleetwood-Goes-His-Own-Way-Motoring-nostalgia https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/LocationPhotoDirectLink-g60634-d7356569-i228179064-Fleetwood_s_General_Store_Maui-Lahaina_Maui_Hawaii.html https://fleetwoodmac-uk.com/wp/mick-fleetwood-goes-his-own-way-motoring-nostalgia-sunday-express/ RE: Celebrity A7 owner - Reckless Rat - 02-08-2020 That's me. I was once on talking terms with Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. He once said to me: "Shift!" RE: Celebrity A7 owner - Tony Griffiths - 02-08-2020 Seems a decent enough guy - and pretty grounded: https://www.creditplus.co.uk/blog/interview-the-apprentices-nick-hewer-6986466/ RE: Celebrity A7 owner - robert regan - 02-08-2020 I agree with Malcolm about Goodwood , the entry per day to attend their events is "bonkers" and the cost for camping makes your eyes water. They have taken on the pre war motto of the Broocklands set of " the right crowd and no crowding ", regards to all Rob.
