Torque tube vent plug? - Joe eck - 22-05-2020

Would a partially blocked torque tube vent plug cause diff oil to dribble from around the torque tube anchor assembly on my mk2 Ruby ?
Thanks
Joe.

It won't help Joe, oil is only retained by a scroll on these axles, overfilling the axle will also cause leaks, as will tired or overloaded springs that cause the torque tube to lie horizontal. You can improve matters by fitting a sealed bearing at this end of the torque tube.

Thanks Ian.
I was just curious after having found the vent blocked during one of my extreme boredom lockdown tasks.
It doesn't dribble much, but now I am aware that oil retention is just by scroll, I would imagine a dribble is highly likely.
I will see if a clear vent improves things.
Thanks again.
Joe.
