Diff bearings - David Witton - 22-04-2020

Trying to source diff bearings for 32 axle. Existing ones are SKF marked “W6536” and seemingly unavailable.

Does anyone know of the modern equivalent RHP please?

Thanks in advance

Ignore previous. It has been resolved.

I think the ones you are wanting in RHP are LJT 1 1/4M

RE: Diff bearings - Chris KC - 22-04-2020

LJT 1 1/4 indeed. Have you tried Jamie at Seven Workshop?

I suspect you will find the old SKF bearings marked W6536 are the 'narrow outer ring' version used by Austins at this time.

The Crown Wheel carrier angular contact side bearings  can be replaced with standard bearings- RHP LJT 1 1/4 or SKF ALS 10.

Make sure they are fitted the correct way around !

Thank you Tony. I had a similar problem a few years ago and recalled your comments on the wider bearings at that time but couldn’t remember the equivalent RHP. Eventually found the original thread on the old forum. New bearings available from cherished supplier.
