Baby Austin or Pup Austin? - Tony Griffiths - 23-03-2020 From 1929: RE: Baby Austin or Pup Austin? - Bob Culver - 24-03-2020 In the 1960s the railways here operated a fleet of inter town buses. They used to cruise at about 48mph. I would follow in the Seven, seemed to have some throttle left, and on very long straights would pull out to pass. The slipstream would immediately flatten the Seven and put paid to the venture. RE: Baby Austin or Pup Austin? - Roland Alcock - 24-03-2020 I had similar experience with my 125cc BSA Bantam. At that time I was travelling each day from Cheltenham to Cinderford Technical College. If I used Esso petrol the engine would seize up, and free up after cooling. If I used National Benzole or Cleveland Discol it would run happily all day flat out without any problems. Roly |
