A7 V Smart Car V original Mini - Tony Griffiths - 14-03-2020

Just added this to another thread. Though it modestly interesting enough to post again.

Thanks, Tony, you have saved me a job.

I have always meant to park Alice alongside a Smart car and a Mini, but have never got round to it.

Being a short wheelbase special, without anything much sticking out past the mudguards, she is definitely smaller than the Mini, and almost certainly beats the Smart car by a whisker.

She is not stored at home, so I cannot nip out with a tape measure, just yet.

Cheers

Simon

I have a Brian James single axle tow trailer designed to carry the Smart. Ideal for a 6' 3" Seven and 6' 9" at a pinch.

Didn't know you could buy metric Austin Sevens! A Rosengart perhaps...

I found a Smart car cover fitted my RK very well.

The considerable height and the rectangular front view of the RP make for a large area which with the non stramlining saps speed although it does give (for those with short legs) quite a spacious feeling inside. For decades I ran a Jowett Javelin which with the floor entirely above a chassis was a tall car for the time, but was lower than the Seven.
