Exhaust system - AllAlloyCup - 31-10-2017 I’m thinking of using a Ruby type exhaust manifold with 1” SU carb On my GE Cup Special and wonder what sort of silencer Would match this set up. Not planning to fit a hot camshaft or bigger valves But will fit a Ricardo HC head. I previously fitted a Cherry Bomb silencer To my TR3A and it has served me well. Would a 3” body, 18” silencer be long enough and not too noisy? The GE undersill has louvres to avoid cooking the passenger But space is tight hence 3” and 18” dimensions. It needs to fit between the front and rear Cross members Exiting under the rear , rather than pointing at the near side rear tyre? Any advice appreciated. Ps Cherry Bombs are a lot cheaper than A7 ones! Bill G RE: Exhaust system - Alan - 31-10-2017 You should be ok at that. It's what I have on the Ulster and really I'd like it a bit noisier. RE: Exhaust system - Stumpi - 31-10-2017 I have a Cherry Bomb on my seven which exits at the side and 1 1/8th SU on a Ruby manifold. It passed the noise check for the VSCC Measham rally earlier this year, Andy |
