SU carb leaking - Tatenlyle - 06-02-2020 I bought an SU carb last year, and fitted it to my RP with an adaptor. When I turned it over, it leaked petrol from the vent. So I bought a new needle valve and seat from Burlens, it still shoots petrol out. Do I need to fit an electric pump, and if so, what type RE: SU carb leaking - Stumpi - 06-02-2020 A friend recently had this problem on a 70's Midget[1 1/8su].We eventually realized the vent hole had been enlarged, this was filled with solder and a .030 hole drilled which solved the problem. The vent hole on this carb is just below inlet and there should be a small plate covering it which is held on by the flexible fuel pipe. The carb is an H1, with the vent below the brass screw which holds the top on |
