Brake light switch - morrisminor - 28-01-2020 I've got the Lucas sliding brake light switch on my 37 Ruby, the spring I think isn't strong enough to pull the slider fully, lost its springyness ! Can anyone tell me what size spring I need and where to get a replacement from ? RE: Brake light switch - Greig Smith - 28-01-2020 Before you go the spring route, try a little spray lube on the slider, they get dry & a spot of corrosion on them & they hang up and the brake lights stay on - Just fixed the one on the '28 Ford and all it took was a little WD40 Aye Greig RE: Brake light switch - Derek Sheldon - 29-01-2020 If the lubricant doesn’t work just shorten the spring, possibly using a cable tie RE: Brake light switch - morrisminor - 29-01-2020 Thanks guys, I've just found out there's a u clip on the brake rod that slides enabling the spring to get looser or tighter depending.
