August Midshires Meetings
Here are the proposed meetings for August.
August is another busy month with many events to choose from.
Thursday 8th August: Meet at Stoney Cove (LE9 4DW) at 7.30 p.m. There will be a talk by Margaret Baldwin, one of the diving instructors from the Diving Centre. Meals have to be pre-booked from Nemo’s Bar – details are available online at www.nemosbar.co.uk.They will be ready after the presentation. If you cannot attend the talk, do come along for a drink and take in the fabulous sunset from the veranda, weather permitting!
Tuesday 13th August: Visit to Shackerstone Railway (CV13 6NW). Train fares are £12 for adults, £9 for seniors. Meet at 10.30 a.m. in the car park because the first train leaves at 11.00. Contact Colin for more details on 0116 286 2607 or e-mail cgdawson@hotmail.co.uk

Sunday 18th August: Peter Stevenson’s Steam Up, Pailton (CV23 0QA). Meet from midday for a friendly laid-back gathering with a good variety of cars. Bring your own food to put on the barbecue, also drinks and cutlery. Details from David on 01788 522033 or e-mail david@a7c.co.uk
Monday 19th August: A visit to Shepshed Mill (LE12 9RP). Their website is www.shepshedwatermill.co.uk. Meet at 10.30 a.m. to view this early 19th century brick-built watermill with adjoining house. Please let Colin know by 16th. August because they owners have asked for numbers ,thank you.
