Cow horn chassis brackets wanted - merlinart - 08-10-2017 Hi all I am after a pair of the cow horn curved front chassis brackets. If anyone has a spare pair or knows of any, please contact me. art@spitfireart.com 01273 843749 regards Arthur RE: Cow horn chassis brackets wanted - merlinart - 08-10-2017 Hello Someone replied, but I can't locate the reply?! I need the curved type suitable for a replica Ulster build....hope this helps, as I'm not yet au fait with all types yet. On my Ruby chassis, I have the more right angled type brackets which are unsuitable. regards Arthur RE: Cow horn chassis brackets wanted - Ruairidh Dunford - 08-10-2017 These are available new from several suppliers. RE: Cow horn chassis brackets wanted - Austin in the Shed - 08-10-2017 The Ruby Low chassis and earlier high chassis have a different forging on the front of the chassis, the angle which these brackets fit are different so I don't think you can use the earlier cow horn brackets on your car unless you twist them. RE: Cow horn chassis brackets wanted - Ian Williams - 08-10-2017 As Austin indicates you will need to make them for a Ruby chassis RE: Cow horn chassis brackets wanted - David Cochrane - 09-10-2017 I am expecting to have the special ones which will suit the long chassis back in stock in about 2 weeks (BR947u here). David RE: Cow horn chassis brackets wanted - Ruairidh Dunford - 09-10-2017 How do the special ones differ please David? I recall using your blank ones in the past, which I drilled and bent to suit. RE: Cow horn chassis brackets wanted - David Cochrane - 13-10-2017 The special ones are made to fit a Rod Yates Ulster body on a Ruby chassis. The difference is at the bottom end where the holes are so that they suit the holes in a Ruby chassis. RE: Cow horn chassis brackets wanted - Ruairidh Dunford - 13-10-2017 Thank you for confirming David. |
