Unusual sports model - longchap - 08-10-2017
Afternoon all,
Just found a most unusual 'ustin' on ebay like none I've seen before. It looks like the front end of a standard Ruby with the back end of something else attached to it.
No details are provided of the car, other than it's all sorted by an Austin specialist, but I'm intriged how it got it's price tag.

Yes, it's definitely been on sale before.
Not very pretty and certainly no Ulster!
The front end has the registration AHA 326 (issued August 1934, not on the Register or DVLA) and the back end WJ 8251. Again not on the Register, but on DVLA as a green and black Austin Seven sports registered 10/11/33.

A litle more information and the plot thickens.
The simple question to the vendor was: Do you have any details of the car please, such as year, body buider, conversion date, history, specifications, etc?
The seller's (owner) response: I'm sorry I have no detail it was exported to Italy with its English owner and through ill health it has now come back to uk I brought it because I liked it but after driving it a bit I am to large for the car so it's up for sale I have already brought a model t. Which is delivered here from arazona next week. It's 1933. And in good order only non original feature is a delorto carb.
I wonder if the vendor regularly buy cars without any information or indeed any idea of what it actually is or ? Probably yes, is his Model T story is credible!
Good to know that apart from the carb, it's all genuine 1933 Ulster though, so quite a bargain.

That's a new one Edgar, I have not gotten emails from US service members here in the States. Most common are, "Hello, I am the son of the late Minister of Finance and Corruption here XXXXXX..." In the past, I even received phone calls along those lines. With the latter, I got them by telling them that I would transfer them to Agent Smith of the FBI who would take their request.

I believe the car sold at auction earlier this year/late last year for about £15k with a spare engine, big mark up if it is.

Unfortunately, it is not a pretty car, so not a lot going for it in the advertisements to get someone to phone Panaroma for the furthert
details, which are sadly missing in their two on-line ads.
I've been unimpressed by Panarama's website copy. They have a high profile location with little impression of serious knowledge of their stock.
