Sports Exhaust - Martin Baker - 28-05-2019 Can anyone advise wherer i might be able to purchase a sports exhaust box (Nippy or Speedy). i.e. with large diameter outlet. Preferably off the shelf. Thanks RE: Sports Exhaust - NickB - 28-05-2019 I doubt you'll find one off the shelf. Willie McEnzie, Austin Repro sold me his last front section and wasn't going to have any more made. I don't think anyone else is stocking them. As it happens, the one I bought was a later design and the wrong shape for my early 65 so I sold it on. RE: Sports Exhaust - AllAlloyCup - 28-05-2019 Hi Martin I amusing a Cherry Bomb silencer on my Cup You can get them any size and the one I got fits neatly Between the crossmembers on this SWB chassis. I think it’s 40mm in and out Regards Bill G RE: Sports Exhaust - Stumpi - 28-05-2019 I recently had a cherry bomb made to order by Custom Chrome in Nuneaton. Ready in 4 days for £35. Beware the american ones they are to loud to pass scrutineering . Andy RE: Sports Exhaust - Chris KC - 28-05-2019 I think it must have been Willy Mackenzie I saw offering them, might be worth giving him a call as I don't know where else you'd get one. Flushed with success at having just made a new exhaust for my Ulster rep I would venture it is not that hard to make one? RE: Sports Exhaust - JonE - 28-05-2019 what sort of diameter outlet are you after? I'm always conscious of the historic info in the green book - was it written by Jack French? - for "large copper bores being of no use" and keeping to 1" tail pipe paying dividends... RE: Sports Exhaust - Speedex750 - 29-05-2019 If you're just wanting a small straight through silencer try the rear section of a Mark 3 1.3 litre Ford Escort. It's about 1 1/4" diameter from memory (the bigger engined ones were bigger) and has a small box about 15" long. Years ago a Frogeye Sprite silencer was the thing to have, both give a nice rasp! Dave RE: Sports Exhaust - MartinH - 29-05-2019 I can recommend these guys; huge range of silencer sizes, pipes, etc. Above average quality and good service. http://www.everyexhaustpart.com/cart/index.php?route=common/home |
