Speedex/Ruby special in France - David.H - 04-05-2019 While looking for something else on the French site "Leboncoin" -a sort of French Gumtree I spotted a Speedex /Ruby c 1936 special for €10950 "offres" (£9,500 ish) only a few photos & not much information, but it looked neat & tidy& it seemed to have an external Ignition cut out, so may have a competition background. It certainly had a scuttle mounted header tank. Not for me, but may interest someone RE: Speedex/Ruby special in France - Reckless Rat - 04-05-2019 Obviously being sold by a Brit ex-pat because the French is appalling on the car's description. The UK tax disc holder is a dead giveaway. The photos conveniently don't show whether the car is still UK registered or whether it is French registered. One to beware of in my opinion, because "kit cars" are frowned upon in France and you'd be looking at a bureaucratic nightmare to register it. The seller claims to be " a specialist in locating classic cars for companies and individuals". Whatever. Caveat emptor. It's one of the early bodied Speedex's with the rounded tail and vertical front grille. Dave |
