Talking of Gordon England - Rob Hanauer - 13-03-2019 Has anyone come across one of these before? RE: Talking of Gordon England - AllAlloyCup - 13-03-2019 That’s an interesting clock. Is it made by Smiths? Rim wound or rear wind( with swing out case)? Regards Bill G RE: Talking of Gordon England - Rob Hanauer - 13-03-2019 It winds on the the little knob sticking out of the rim which also adjusts the hands if pulled out a bit. It doesn't look like any of the more normal Smiths clocks that I have come across in the past. Was it produced for Gordon England Saloons? Or as an extra available for discerning customers to add to their dashboards? RE: Talking of Gordon England - JonE - 13-03-2019 Swiss Made at bottom.... beautiful. RE: Talking of Gordon England - Ruairidh Dunford - 13-03-2019 Rob, perhaps it may have been fitted to something like this? RE: Talking of Gordon England - Ruairidh Dunford - 13-03-2019 I personally have not but somebody may have - it is certainly an interesting item, is it yours? Do you know any history to it? RE: Talking of Gordon England - Ruairidh Dunford - 13-03-2019 More GE bodied cars here: https://gordonenglandregister.wordpress.com/other-gordon-england-bodied-cars/ RE: Talking of Gordon England - JonE - 13-03-2019 The three clocks in three GE Saloon dashes I've seen in photos all have no rim knob... and a prominent logo underneath the centre of the hands. If anyone has a close up picture of Bernard Griffiths' Sunshine dash from a car show, I suspect that may reveal the logo... RE: Talking of Gordon England - Rob Hanauer - 13-03-2019 It came from a family who owned Rolls-Royce motorcars primarily. I'm pretty sure they never had a Seven but you never know! I bought it last year. |
