Sports engine big end bolts - Colin Wilks - 02-02-2019

These are the bolts with a chamfered and rounded head and with a pin just below the head that engages in a slot in the big end cap.

Need a set of eight for my rebuild please.

Hi Colin, I think you posed this question a while ago.
Can you use caphead 5/16 UNF Bolts with these nuts

Bolt up through with nuts at the top. This is a suggestion, I hav not done it but see no reason why it wont work.
Best Wishes Gene

Hi Gene
Thanks for that. I had thought about using a cap head bolt as I reckon that after chamfering the head to clear the crankcase you could still hold the head with an allen key whilst torquing up, but I'm hoping there's some new old stock out there so I can keep it original!
