GE Cup Photos - Douglas Alderson - 23-11-2018 I found these photos in a box of paperwork, any one seen them before? I think I have see the second one some where but not sure RE: GE Cup Photos - Ruairidh Dunford - 23-11-2018 The second one looks very much like those taken by Tom Abernethy to advertise the bodies he made. RE: GE Cup Photos - Ruairidh Dunford - 23-11-2018 Thank you Douglas. RE: GE Cup Photos - AllAlloyCup - 23-11-2018 Hi Douglas Thanks for posting these. The first photo looks like a genuine , if somewhat tired factory built car. Interesting paint? On the scuttle?! I also note that it has later Lucas 1130 sidelamps but seems to be missing its seats? And has a black enamelled radiator shell. Both images seem to be taken in wintry conditions and Gartmore can certainly get its share of snow! The bodywork photo has the bodyshell sitting on a newly restored chassis, perhaps used as a jig? Regards Bill G RE: GE Cup Photos - Ruairidh Dunford - 23-11-2018 The “snow” in the body picture is the pebbledash on the wall of his house Bill. RE: GE Cup Photos - AllAlloyCup - 23-11-2018 Hi Ruairidh, You’re right I can see the Pebbledash On the bottom left. Loads of snow in the other pic. A cold days drive in a GE Cup! Putting the finishing touches to the engine today. All the best Bill G |
