help how do you reaassemble a rear window and rubber for a 1936 austin ruby - syd nally - 06-09-2017 the rear window fell out of our Austin 7 ruby and we nead help to fit it thanks syd RE: help how do you reaassemble a rear window and rubber for a 1936 austin ruby - Nigel was in Brittany - 06-09-2017 What I did with mine was put the glass into the rubber and fitted the glass from inside the car with a coating of black Stixall ,then with a bit of 2x1 screwed across the glass to retain it until the Stixall cured. When I had held it in tight with the 2x1 I used a garage wet wipe to remove any residue from the exterior paint work. Todays top tip : if you are siliconeing around a basin etc , use a wet wipe to go over the silicone rather than your wetted finger, it leaves a lovely finish.
