Trials driving - Paul Nott - 16-10-2018 Hi all Thinking of taking part in hill trials in my Seven Special, can anybody recommend any beginner events. Many thanks Paul RE: Trials driving - Hugh Barnes - 16-10-2018 The most recent edition of the Association Magazine has a particularly helpful piece that you should look out for that might give you some tips... RE: Trials driving - Julian Hunt - 17-10-2018 Where do you live? If you are thinking of driving to events, competing and driving home afterwards (and some people do) then it shouldn't be too far away. If you live in the South East of England then the 750MC Cold Turkey Trial to be held just after Christmas not far from Crawley is always good for road-going cars and the PWA7C usually hold a trial around that time in the Midlands. Last year a young couple did both events. If you are in the Cotswolds and have an eligible car, the VSCC Cotswolds Trial based on Prescott Hill near Cheltenham takes place on 17 November. You have to be a club member to enter ALL these events and you probably don't have time to join, sort out the eligibility of your car (check the VSCC website) and make preparations. But you could go along, spectate and talk to the Austin people - they don't often bite. Other local trials organised by regional clubs are available check with your local motor clubs. RE: Trials driving - Nick Salmon - 17-10-2018 Yes Paul, have a go! Cold Turkey trial for production A7s and specials is on 29th December at Tulleys Farm, near Crawley, Sussex. Ideal event for a beginner and you will be assured of a warm and friendly welcome. Details and entry form will be publicised on this forum a bit nearer the time. Also check out: https://www.750mc.co.uk/trials/production-trials.htm If you want something sooner, Falcon Motor Club has its Guy Fawkes Trial on 4th November at Kensworth, near Dunstable. Again, very suitable for production/special A7s. Enter online. http://www.falconmotorclub.com/guy_fawkes_trial_2017.html And you'll find some albums of A7 trials pics here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/134441372@N05/albums Look forward to meeting you. RE: Trials driving - Chris Garner - 17-10-2018 Unfortunately the PWA7C will not be holding their annual Dave Wilcox Memorial Trial just after Christmas due to our inability to find an alternative site. We apologise to all those looking forward to it, competitors, marshals and spectators, but we will try very hard for next year. Chris Previous C of C. RE: Trials driving - Paul Nott - 17-10-2018 Hi all Thanks for the replies, should of said that I live in South Cambridgeshire. Yes I know we are not blessed with hills, but have access to a trailer so prepared to travel. Hope to give it a go next year, at present rewiring and fettling a 1927 Austin Seven Special.
