Ruby door seal - Tiger - 06-10-2018

Hi people
Waiting for some bits for engine rebuild so looking at bodywork.
Drivers door not secured when I took ownership so let’s have a look !
Bottom rail not present so ordered replacement for Martin P.
Fabulous service rail was a perfect fit and very reasonable price.
After lots of fettling door is an “excepable fit”
Question what provides the seal between the door edge and body ?
Can’t see anything on the A7 workshop site.
Advice much appreciated
Regards

What year is your Ruby Tim?

1936 ARR

When you say seal - do you mean water or air?  There was no rubber seal fitted to the door to keep out water, as far as I am aware - and it doesn't seem to find its way in.  Draughts are excluded by draught excluder attached round the frame (Furflex type in my car).

Regards,
Colin

I know that he Mk1 cars had something akin to wing piping and I 'think' the Mk2 cars, like yours, had the furflex Colin mentions above - someone will be able to confirm if that is correct.
