Chassis/body material - Stuart Joseph - 30-05-2018 Good morning. I know this subject was covered on the old postings but what is the consensus for the best material to use between the body and chassis? I have a roll of the felt originally used but should it be soaked in Waxoil? Alternatively does anyone know the name of the building material used on the Wheeler Dealers Morgan restoration? Regards from the creative county - Staffordshire Stuart RE: Chassis/body material - Ruairidh Dunford - 30-05-2018 Hi Stuart, I have used the original style felt soaked in Waxoyl for many years and restorations now, without issue, despite extensive use in some cases. RE: Chassis/body material - Dave Wortley - 30-05-2018 Stuart, As R says felt soaked in waxoyl. I roll the felt and put it in a saucepan of heated waxoyl. Not too hot of course! Dave. |
