carb bowl leak - trikepete - 25-03-2018 hi i am new to a7 ownership so bear with me i have a zenith 26va on my 37 ruby it seems that float bowl has a leak the whole outside of the bowl feels wet with fuel so porous after standing of a few days it stops but only because the bowl is empty is this common to the car or do i need a new bowl thanks in advance guys RE: carb bowl leak - Reckless Rat - 25-03-2018 No it's more than likely the needle valve not shutting the fuel off (there is still fuel under pressure when you switch off) or possibly the float is punctured. Undo the two square headed screws that hold on the float bowl and you'll be able to see what's what. One of the screws has a square end for removing the jets in the base of the bowl. RE: carb bowl leak - dickie65 - 26-03-2018 Check the condition of needle valve seat and the gasket which is often missing. Also modern fuel is not as dense as the old stuff which alters the fuel level. |
