RE: Why is my sump filling up with fuel ??? - flywheel1935 - 03-06-2021 Cheers guys for the info, I currently have a the services of a local A7 specialist working with me to diagnose the issues highlighted, but as he is away for another week or so I have done everything that the original builder of this engine has tasked me to investigate. It now seems to start "on the button" and I have dialed in the E-Dizzy, as suggested by Ruairidh. I will check the sump bolt, as the 'squeak' was apparent when this engine went back to the builder the first time, and it emanates from the f/wheel end. I thought it could be the modern oil seal I understand was fitted. but again this may well not be the case. John, did the screwdriver to the ear thing, & there is a definite mechanical sound from the bowels of the engine. After playing about more with the timing tomorrow & possibly posting another video ? I will park up the car in a state where without literally pulling the engine apart its been taken as far as I can, then generate a report back to the original builder to digest. These posts were being written almost in 'real time' , but unless something really apparent comes to the fore. I stay quiet until next. week. |
