RE: Crashed Ruby today. - andrew34ruby - 19-07-2024 I think the back of my car looks rather high. Sit two of us in the car, add the spare wheel, tyre, jack etc at the very back and it might look different. Add a tank of petrol at the back. consider the rather heavy 12v battery at the front, and I think it is ok. RE: Crashed Ruby today. - Steve kay - 19-07-2024 Happened to me two weeks ago, the 2CV with 20/50 recently purchased oil coming from the motor factor. A car at the entrance/exit to a retirement home just pulled out straight in front of me. When questioned they indicated that they were not retired and had no reason to be there. They also refused to give any details, which did not help hide the fact that the car was not taxed as that is immediately indicated on DVLA web site. As all 2CV owners will know, despite the visible damage, one just drives home and looks for a scabby front wing behind the shed, find another headlight and bend the front bumper into an approximate correct shape. Bashed bonnet will be fixed in due course. And after the discussions here on the forum of our specialist insurers I can only repeat that the specialists are there to help, know what we are talking about and understand old motor cars. RE: Crashed Ruby today. - Dave Mann - 20-07-2024 The same thing happened to me a couple of days ago in a supermarket car park when a SUV just hauled out of his space right in front of me, I was only going slowly and just stopped about an inch from him, he got the message and had to back up to avoid hitting me as he turned out. Your Ruby looks great never know anything had happened. The police usually take a great deal of interest in that sort of thing ... RE: Crashed Ruby today. - andrew34ruby - 10-08-2024 And since this I have fitted 4 new tyres from Longstone. RE: Crashed Ruby today. - Ivor Hawkins - 11-08-2024 Looks lovely Andrew, very well done, but your tax is out of date… |
