RE: What have you done today with your Austin Seven - Reckless Rat - 27-05-2024 We're off to the Italian Lakes this week for a few days. I did think about going in the RP but I was told to think again. I compromised and will be taking something else, but at least it was built at Longbridge, albeit a bit later than the RP..... ("Don't tell 'em your name, Pike!") ![]() RE: What have you done today with your Austin Seven - Ian Wegg - 28-05-2024 A trip to our local town centre car show. It stayed mostly dry but in the mid-afternoon I was given the opportunity to test the effectiveness of the tonneau cover (which turned out to be excellent!). Unlike the wiper, which seems to have stopped working and had to be hand-cranked on the return journey home. RE: What have you done today with your Austin Seven - AustinWood - 28-05-2024 If you treat the winscreen with Rainex the rain forms balls on the glass and runs off. So long as the car is moving the wiper isn't needed. Also the passenger can see where they're going. Wiper only needed when stationary or moving slowly. RE: What have you done today with your Austin Seven - John Mason - 28-05-2024 Reckers, Why do you think I refer to my dearest as “Her who must be obeyed. John Mason. RE: What have you done today with your Austin Seven - Bob Kneale - 29-05-2024 At around 4pm I shall be intercepting Denis and Vicky Sweeney at the Devon/Cornwall Border near Holsworthy, and escorting him in the RP to his hotel in Bude. Tomorrow will be the last leg of his epic trip to Lands End, and I shall be supporting him westwards down county to meet other members of the Cornwall A7C. Anyone in the Holsworthy area who cares to meet up at 4pm will be very welcome. Despite having to do it in his modern, having been messed about by his Ruby, he has persevered to raise money for a very worthy cause, and still has a few days to go before he reaches the welcome comfort of his home. Bob RE: What have you done today with your Austin Seven - David Cochrane - 29-05-2024 Celebrating the Chummy's 99th birthday today, unfortunately not by taking it for a drive (it's a bit poorly after >500 miles going to Wales & back last month). RE: What have you done today with your Austin Seven - Bob Kneale - 29-05-2024 Met up with Denis and Vicky today, and will pick them up tomorrow from Bude, to take them Westwards. Bob RE: What have you done today with your Austin Seven - David Cochrane - 30-05-2024 I hope they are in good spirits! RE: What have you done today with your Austin Seven - Peter Sweeney - 30-05-2024 Thank you Bob and all Den has met with on his JOGLE. Also all who have supported the charity. Proud brother Pete RE: What have you done today with your Austin Seven - Bob Kneale - 30-05-2024 Denis and Vicky will by now have 'touched down' at Lands End. Having left them on their way, I last saw them on the A30 near Scorrier, as I headed towards Camborne. They were in excellent spirits, and as we departed, I commented that at least the modern he had been forced to undertake the marathon journey, enabled them to carry a few more pairs of pants!!! ![]() ![]() I'll meet up with them as they head up county again towards Bude again on Saturday. What a delightful couple ![]() Well done both. See you Saturday. Bob |
