RE: Scruffy specials - where have they all gone? - Hugh Barnes - 01-02-2022 Thank you Steve. The reason the Archivist asked was that he has recently been given an image of the article in the Light Car reporting on the Claridge's lunch that we all are aware of. There is no mention in that article of any car being displayed - either at the lunch or anywhere else, so he was intrigued... Any images that others have access to that reveals any early announcement would be welcomed... RE: Scruffy specials - where have they all gone? - Mike Costigan - 01-02-2022 That makes sense; Claridge's is only a short walk from Oxford Street. Pete RE: Scruffy specials - where have they all gone? - Stuart Giles - 01-02-2022 BOW 420 was built by a 750 T Wells member back in the 70s, from a chat with him at a rally last year, I understand that he still owns it. RE: Scruffy specials - where have they all gone? - Peter Sweeney - 01-02-2022 Good survival rate without being reclothed. RE: Scruffy specials - where have they all gone? - Peter Sweeney - 16-02-2022 My sons father in law Michael Johnson had a few 7s in the 50s living in Streatham. One was a special started by his brother. After the photo was taken in 1953 larger wheels from a Hillman were fitted. A number of 750 club trials were entered. His other 7 photo is marked on the back Type RP October1932. Not sure what the bumper is from.
