If there's not a cornet in the band .........

Apologies for messing up the last few pictures and for the added and unwanted image data! I did try to get into "Edit" mode to put it right but failed - sorry!

However, thank you Peter, Duncan and Ruairidh for your kind words. And, Ruairid......: the wiggley road was not that bad or that long! Good tune though!

Furthermore, a big thank you to everyone who have viewed the pictures and for your encouragement and good comments.

Now, here are my last four pictures:

The first is a windmill on our route north of Avalon:

Modern wind power:

Café at the side of the Canal Lateral a la Loire:

Lastly, in the queue to board the ferry at Caen:

Super Brian,
Well done to you all, especially the car!

Reckless, thank you for your kind words, and, yes, we owe a lot to the car.

Our adventure in France depended almost entirely on our amazing Austin seven! The car's reliability is due to the good design and high engineering quality of the whole drive train - it is simply very well made.

Herbert Austin, or Lord Austin, would be pleased that so many of his cars remain in use today, and still giving pleasure to owners all over the world.

Bryan.

Did you notice in the "modern wind power" picture, the large Buffaloe along the road on the right, wow!

More wonderful photos! As an aside, why can't they build modern wind turbines that resemble old mills? We have a lot here in Washington State and they detract from the beauty of the landscape.

Well spotted Joe!

Not only the Buffalo but the nostalgic road patching with golden brown chippings, what memories.  Ah, time to rescue the whisky bottle and dream of the open highways of old England.
