RE: Towing - Duncan Grimmond - 20-01-2018

Obviously available in France according to the link you posted but apparently not in UK. I'll have to see if I can wangle one via fFrench pals...

RE: Towing - merlinart - 20-01-2018

It appears to have been superceded by the 37370, though this has a small "tailgate" which I guess can be removed.

Here it is on ebay, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lider-10-x-5-tilt-bed-Trailer-ideal-for-Lawnmowers-Quad-bikes-Trikes-Motorbikes/321092311794?epid=1555299037&hash=item4ac297daf2:g:h8MAAOSwqfpZxQW~

Mine,  10/11 years ago was around £800. David brought it over, flat with its wheels off, strapped down on his. It might be worth dropping him an email about it. I suspect that they are cheaper in France. Mine needs a new floor at some stage this year.

RE: Towing - Rhysn - 21-01-2018

I have A framed many cars in the past. The only one that has given me concern was the A7. Something about the steering geometry made it most unhappy. I wouldn't A frame an A7, personally.

RE: Towing - Douglas Alderson - 21-01-2018

On one of my A7 break downs the recovery van driver took one look at the wheels a “they are too skinny for the dolly as the straps go over the tyre” he then called for a flat bed.  I recall when this was discussed on the old forum there was the comment about the strain on the back axel e.g. long distances at speeds the A7 is not use to.  Is there a risk that the A7 could drop into gear going over a bump in the road?

Looking at their on-line catalogue the floor is called "bois antidérapant" which literally translated means anti-slip wood, however most of the trailers I've seen over here like that use a kind of resin based sheet 12mm thick which is probably available in the UK. If not, you could use marine or exterior grade ply and/or tread plate.

Seen one at 1139€ over here.

Scouting around I found this
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Car-trailer-NEPTUN-10ft-x-5-6-FT-Tipping-Tipper-750kg-Quad-Motorbike/263283229757?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160727114228%26meid%3D5557c7ef6fb24150896e88e75582bd2b%26pid%3D100290%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D381685294419&_trksid=p2060778.c100290.m3507

It seems to be a similar type and considerably less expensive, difficult to assess quality without seeing them both in the flesh. The hold-down device in duplicated on the Lider model, I suppose that is an indication of the sort of savings they might make which could be remedied by the owner.

Made in Poland....should be good, some very good engineering out there....also the Poles of 303 Squadron were the highest scoring squadron in the Battle of Britain!

Yes, we would have been lost without the Polish Air Force, a fact few remember when they campaign to send immigrants home.
