The Trico wiper features in the other photos, too; presumably fitted from new.

Gladys de Havilland's Chummy (1929?) was also fitted with a Trico wiper.

I had a long discussion about this with another BA7C member, because we had loads of Trico vacuum wipers at the spares shed, which I had assumed were 1950's replacements or ex Ford 8/10 items.

I am now convinced that the Trico wiper was fitted by the factory, probably when the Lucas items were in short supply.

Closer examination of the spares shed stock revealed that most of them were 1930's to 1950's Ford items but there were one or two vintage ones.
