The question of whether to fit electronic ignition or keep with the electro-mechanical distributor seems to be a perennial one in these annals and there are advocates for both. Personally, I prefer the electro-mechanical distributor. After all, it has served well for 90 years. I wonder if the electronic units will serve as long.

But whilst they do, they make for very smooth running, in my experience.
