Easy fix, fit the lighting apparatus as original. 'Wire' them up with string. They are therefore not lamps.

Don't fit reflectors. Not needed where front position and rear position lamps are not fitted

Don't use it between sunset and sunrise (or in periods of reduced visibility between sunrise and sunset).

Happy days, original looking car - 100% legal.

My box saloon has had two rear lamps and reflectors for the past 60 plus years and hasn’t been “ original” since it left the factory nearly 90 years ago and as it’s a car that’s actually driven on the road regularly and in the dark, I think it will remain as it is!
