That engine is 100%  in my old 1936 special, which my Dad bought for me in about 1974- I recognize the scuttle and curved riveted section which went under the bunch of bananas manifold. I knew it had somehow made its way to France.
We had gone out to buy a new mini for my Mum- it had gone, but the guy had the special in bits for sale.
We pulled up outside the house, special on the back of his truck, and Dad absconded to the pub, and charged me with explaining things to Mum...
The reg was JW 8544, and I had lots of fun with that little car.
A fancy engine like that was never on the agenda!

I've just listed this one on ebay.

It's done around 500 miles since its rebuild.
