Hi Jon I have a ton of stuff to go through (fifty years worth!) but if I remember correctly it was on a sort of thick foil type material, about 3” wide and maybe 3/32” thick -apologies for imperial measure! ?
It didn’t have any securing pins, it was glued on, I had to peel it off with a scraper as I was planning to put it back on but never got around to it...

back on topic. I can't help thinking the speedex badge was modeled on a design I've seen elsewhere' The black portion top and bottom was in fact a black, front transverse spring paired with an inverted black spring underneath. The picture from JonE is a bit fuzzy, any recollections Ivor?

Crikey Squeak, I had the Super Sportsman in about 1972, these days I can’t remember what I did yesterday!
But in all seriousness, what you describe rings a bell of sorts, though I’m pretty sure the badge was a very simple black and red with a gold or silver background...I will continue to search, I may even have a photograph, but it is likely to be black and white...

I was thinking the external shape of the motif/badge was the frontal aspect of the first 750 body - the frontal inlet.

In the vein of the post by Duncan Grimond I was on a Swiss Riley Rally about 25 years ago and we stopped at a restaurant at the top of a pass for lunch. Having been charged 12 swiss francs (far more valuable than french ones were) for a bottle of water I asked the organiser if that was right. He said it couldn't be and went to check with the staff on my behalf. They still insisted that the price was correct. I will not be returning to that restaurant!

Maybe of some interest. There is a Dutch Speedex for sale on Prewarcar.com that has the nose badge in place. Pictures aren't that clear but hopefully the vendor can provide something better.
