Just because its scrap, doesn't mean its worthless?

It's taken a massive effort going through and clearing alot of stock.

As I went through, the scrap was piled up, and last week I took it to the scrap man. As I need to get a car past the gate.

I got £84.00 for it Big Grin

Tony.

Ps, I've started piling the scrap again. Wilst I finish sorting.

About 50% of hubs of this type that I have stripped have a hairline crack.
The trick is to always get them crack checked properly.
There is no reason why they cannot be TIG welded by an expert - re-machined and x rayed.
This is not DIY stuff.
Myself I started to keep all the cracked ones and will in the fullness of time get them repaired as a batch.

One of our club members, after trying to find a pair of uncrackeed front stub axles, has decided to have a new pair machined from solid !!

Not sure of the cost.
