As reports of personal experience might be helpful, on the Ruby, like a previous Ulster, I fitted a David Cochrane twin arm front shock assembly and found it a notable improvement. Tyres are Longstone, somewere between 26 and 28, depending on which pressure guage, and rather more than one local garage indicates. Sometimes when autotesting I increase front pressures to 30 or a bit more. To be completely honest, I am not really sure if that helps or just looks very competitive as some others can  be seen pumping up tyres as well.
