My Ulsteroid has the tank made of brass which has shown no problems in nearly 20 years of use. I presume it is soft soldered.

I've just finished a rank for my BSA in brass. Technically for the year it should have been a rectangular one in steel but as it's my project I prefer the brass one.
Further investigation regarding the chummy tank has led me to a preference for brass over tinplate but if anyone wants to commission one they can opt for their preferred material.

Robert, have you noticed any untoward effects on your brass tank from using E10 fuel?
I know that the water/ethanol effect can be quite serious on brass components in fuel lines and carbs but have not heard of attack on the interior of brass tanks.
