RE: What have you done today with your Austin Seven - Steve Jones - 07-06-2021 Not today but Saturday, this is what some of us were doing. Harewood Vintage and Classic Hillclimb. From the left, Greg Harrison, Steve Jones, Alan Bee, Stuart Rose. Geoff Harrison standing. Also there but not in the photo, Peter Howatt, Adam Forster and Zoe Megginson. Steve RE: What have you done today with your Austin Seven - Hedd_Jones - 09-06-2021 I had to visit my mate Ken Last night to glue some brake linings on the brake shoes for my steam roller, on the basis he had the glue. Given it was a superb evening, and I now have a fully roadworthy chummy, what better vehicle to use?. RE: What have you done today with your Austin Seven - JonE - 09-06-2021 Wow. I guess from looking at those that Steamroller MOTs are terribly important in hilly areas... RE: What have you done today with your Austin Seven - Ivor Hawkins - 09-06-2021 Lovely Chummy Hedd and it looks like the door trim is original, which is nice. RE: What have you done today with your Austin Seven - AustinWood - 09-06-2021 Used the fabric saloon today to visit our other garage and test the repaired ammeter. Ammeter working well. I checked it with my multimeter on 20Amp range. Fitted it in the lead that feeds the power to the switch panel (NOT the main battery lead!). The ammeter is reading a bit low but the current is actually 3A/6A in low/high charge. Very pleased that it's working. RE: What have you done today with your Austin Seven - Hedd_Jones - 09-06-2021 (09-06-2021, 01:06 PM)Ivor Hawkins Wrote: Lovely Chummy Hedd and it looks like the door trim is original, which is nice. Ivor, its a car I bought from a forum member as a result of a wanted ad on here. As soon as I set eyes on it I knew It was what I wanted, and the more I looked the more I had to have it. Its an older restoration (judging from the tax disks 1978), and getting tatty here and there, but is almost totally unmolested (save the indicators!). I have had to do a few jobs as it had reportedly not been on the road for a few years, but I have to say I am delighted with it. RE: What have you done today with your Austin Seven - Ruairidh Dunford - 09-06-2021 It is splendid car Hedd, I like it a lot! RE: What have you done today with your Austin Seven - Stumpi - 09-06-2021 Visited Gaydon motor museum yesterday ,Not many pre-war cars but lots of interesting cars to look at. RE: What have you done today with your Austin Seven - Steve kay - 09-06-2021 Andy, we keep some strange company. You are parked next to a serious looking rally Escort. As Saturday's nav rally was an MGCC event we found ourselves competing against a 1989 MG Metro Turbo, also in rally spec with full roll cage etc. As long as we are all having fun! RE: What have you done today with your Austin Seven - Stumpi - 09-06-2021 There was a good variety from a rusty Mobylette moped to some seriously powerful road going dragsters. It was a ticket only do[free]so it was a lot of motoring nerds talking about there hobby. The museum wasn't open but the staff were driving around on an Albion and Thornycroft both early cars but quite different. |
