RE: Family photo discoveries - Robert Leigh - 08-12-2024 I suspect that many years of use and overload at times cause the chassis to sag a little. The car in these pictures is relatively new and everything is still much nearer to factory spec before the sag took place. RE: Family photo discoveries - Duncan Grimmond - 09-12-2024 I'd agree that the cyclist seems to be a "Good Samaritan". Is that a Sirram picnic outfit sitting on the verge? RE: Family photo discoveries - Tony Griffiths - 09-12-2024 Thanks, Steve. Super pictures, I really enjoyed them. RE: Family photo discoveries - Denis Sweeney - 09-12-2024 Looks like the "Good Samaritan" is in a uniform, is that an early AA or RAC man on his cycle?? RE: Family photo discoveries - Tony Griffiths - 13-12-2024 I noticed in the last two pictures that the original Lucas cylindrical wiper has been replaced (?) by one of the Trico semi-circular types. The earliest patent date for this unit is 1928 (https://savetrico.wordpress.com/about/), but of course, it could have been in production before the patent was granted. I've always believed that the cylindrical Lucas wiper was the only one fitted to the Seven—but, am I wrong? RE: Family photo discoveries - Ruairidh Dunford - 13-12-2024 The Trico one was fitted to Sevens as I have seen original screens with only one hole drilled, my observations have mainly been on cars from around 1927. To buck that trend, my original Cup Model windscreen only has one hole for a Trico wiper and is 1926... |
