Apparently it is prone to snapping which can result in ending up with a detached gear lever in your hand when in dire need of third gear for retardation. RE: Clutch release bearing knackered? - Hugh Barnes - 13-10-2024 Not only the crash box, my synchro box delivered me the same surprise when changing into second after a hefty hill start on climbing the hill up from Pangbourne after crossing the Thames. It snapped round the groove for the circlip that holds the chrome bezel in place. I now *always* carry a spare gear lever with me... |
