RE: Steering box oil - Dave Mann - 21-04-2023 As I have to reverse the cars into the garage steering the last one in by moving the front wheels with grease lubrication the wheels will only turn one way and lock the other whilst with oil lubrication they will turn both ways. RE: Steering box oil - AustinWood - 21-04-2023 I'm also using oil in the king pins. The steering is lighter and more responsive. Much easier to get it down to the bottom bush too. RE: Steering box oil - John Cornforth - 21-04-2023 Hi So, if I decide to lubricate my steering box / kingpins with oil, do I just fill a grease gun with oil and squirt it in via the nipple ? Or will it just spray everywhere ? RE: Steering box oil - Dave Mann - 21-04-2023 You will have to do what I did which is strip the box including removing the worm wheel to fit a new felt seal as the old one will leak. |
