RE: AC Pumps - T Type - U type - "Slack Alice" Simon - 26-02-2022 Whatever you've done, Hedd, I can see the last two pics. You might have to scroll down the page a bit... And the Tuffnol disks too excellent. Thanks. Simon, Im hoping you can see them all? RE: AC Pumps - T Type - U type - Bob Kneale - 26-02-2022 I've sent you a PM Hedd Cheers Bob RE: AC Pumps - T Type - U type - John Gould - 05-03-2022 Further to all the above and regarding my T type pump, last year unable to find new Tuffnol hex valves I made a couple out of thin flat brass sheet. They worked great and at the time I wondered why they'd not originally been made of that material. After around 3 months of not being exercised, the pump failed to deliver; stripping it down I found both valves stuck to their seatings, could only have been the stale petrol wots done it I suppose. Does this happen to the Tuffnol ones does anybody know? ps. does anyone know offhand what size of Tuffnol hex to order from Flexolite for a T pump? RE: AC Pumps - T Type - U type - John Gould - 05-03-2022 Oops, ignore the ps. I now see it's the 15/32" ones! RE: AC Pumps - T Type - U type - Ivor Hawkins - 05-03-2022 I wish I had a spare main body section, I think the thread holding the top on is on its last legs, but otherwise it’s working well and seeing all those Flexolite spares has inspired me to put a spares pack together. RE: AC Pumps - T Type - U type - David Cochrane - 06-03-2022 The thread holding the steel cap on the top of the pump is 1/4 BSF. I noticed that the threaded hole on a pump I was overhauling was somewhat deeper than the length of bolt holding the cap on, so I measured the depth of threaded hole and found a longer bolt which engaged with more of the thread. RE: AC Pumps - T Type - U type - Ivor Hawkins - 06-03-2022 Ah, thanks David, I’ll give that a try, I’m using the original at the moment. |
