I have just remembered that on my pressure fed engine the oil groove on the front bearing has been filled with soft solder.
It has worked for over 20 years, the pressure feed allows enough oil escape to lubricate the cam gears.
My current build will have a custom cam bearing as I have a lathe in the garage now.

The lubrication requirement would be primarily the sliding mesh cross gear that drives the dynamo. Some have their cars set up for minimal generation and others at 12v, alternator conv etc possibly transmitting 1/3 hp or so and would certainly benefit from generous  oil.
