I suppose if one wanted to be pedantic, each battery cell is an accumulator. After all, the derivation of the word 'battery' in the context of electrical storage was a battery of accumulators i.e. cells linked in series.

How interesting. I assumed that a battery was a battery of cells. 
I have some Lucas single cells which I have been wrongly calling batteries.
Did A7s come with three 1.5V accumulators rather than a 6V battery?
