RE: Seat position 1932 RP - Chris KC - 02-09-2021 A prayer rat, perhaps? RE: Seat position 1932 RP - Bob Culver - 02-09-2021 By drilling extra holes the stock seat can be mover slightly rearward. But unless a block of wood or somesuch is placed unere the back edge the leverage under panic braking is considerable. With so little other cars picnics were the thing in the early 50s. my father used to unbolt the seats and use as deluxe camp chairs whilst we youngsters sat on the running boards. Apart from appearance, and it could have benn covered, seems little reason to remove the front flange in the mod illustrated. Perhaps the driver side ripped out under braking! new panel steel is very expensive. Some scrap yards will sell for token sum. Some old appliances have thick panels. Unfortuantely modern wrecks include little of reasonable gauge. RE: Seat position 1932 RP - Jeff Taylor - 03-09-2021 Bob, Oxfordshire Sevens here in the UK produce new repro cross rails for RP's - they often have them for sale on ebay but haven't as yet included them on their webpage. http://www.oxfordshiresevens.co.uk/box-saloon-body-panels-and-parts/ RE: Seat position 1932 RP - Chris KC - 03-09-2021 How is the panel attached to the floor / sill - spot welds? RE: Seat position 1932 RP - Jeff Taylor - 03-09-2021 Chris, On my seemingly original but extremely rusty and rough 1934 / 35 AVH Van floorpan (front 2/3rds of floorpan is identical to RP saloon) the cross rails are spot welded to floor / sills / transmission tunnel. RE: Seat position 1932 RP - Chris KC - 03-09-2021 Thanks Jeff RE: Seat position 1932 RP - Jeff Taylor - 03-09-2021 Here are Oxfordshire Sevens eBay images of the repro front & rear and left & right cross rails when they had them on offer back in January 2019. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Seat position 1932 RP - SneezerUSA - 04-09-2021 Thanks for the photos of the reproduction panels.
