Quick, you too can be snapped coming round the Esses, we still have a couple of places on the 28th September. I could speak to an old pal who used to be a theatre wardrobe lady, she might offer caps for hire. I did not know that the original image came from a glass plate, the print we have is not bad and was assumed to be from something like a two and a quarter negative. We could certainly get one of the snappers signed up for the tour to stand with their Gandolfi on a tripod, but maybe the subesequently circulated pictures might have a more modern origin. To get good images from a glass plate camera must have needed great skill and confidence. Us more senior Sevenists can recall snapping away with our 35 mm, and then peering at the contact sheet and discarding most of it in favour of one or two perfect pictures.
