The semi Girling system compensator favours rear when handbrake applied alone, otherwise balances if all OK. The tester actually locked some wheel. He seemed unfamiliar with conventional stopping distances.
As with many accustomed to moderns the tester obviously a bit taken aback and somewhat demeaning. Considered the car a major improvement cf....walking! Not untrue.
Work colleagues chuckled at my Seven. But I could travel to far flung suburbs within a minute or two of a modern. Most used public transport and took hours longer.
