No problem and to add that my RP is also positive earth and I understand always was.
I also added a brake switch to the rod under driver's seat and tied the wiring into the rear loom which as David's runs tucked to the edge of the running board.

Thanks Andy, I’m running the cable behind where the running board is attached, which keeps it out of the weather, I’m now wondering whether it should run in front of or behind the rear cross member!
