I've been buying mine from these people: https://www.agwoodcare.co.uk/products/oxalicacid/?variation_id=6217 RE: oxalic effect on good bores and tappet guides? - Bob Culver - 05-03-2021 High tensile stressed parts should not be subject to acid ie springs, spokes, steering and susp parts. RE: oxalic effect on good bores and tappet guides? - Chris KC - 08-03-2021 Jon you only need make simple blanking plates from stiff aluminium sheet to close up the holes, seal with silicone goo. Warm citric acid does a pretty fair job and is rather less toxic than oxalic. RE: oxalic effect on good bores and tappet guides? - jr2766 - 10-03-2021 I've just cleaned two blocks and one head by totally immersing in a rectangular mop bucket for a couple of days and I'm confident that the Citric Acid only dissolves the rust. The clean up has been excellent and in one case I did a block twice. Problem is that the acid is neutralised after dissolving a certain amount of rust Jim Runciman |
