That makes more sense, Robert. I read the guide as hooking the dynamo to the battery to spin the dynamo at the same stime as the voltmeter, not as two separate tasks.

I shall have to wait until the engine is built before going any further as my drill only turns it at a very leisurely rate, producing a couple of volts.
