Yes, tried that, sometimes a problem can be sorted by clearing all the history. But not this time! The little green elves in a big white box seem aware of the fact that the laptop is working, and being operated by a chap of this email address, this identity and this password. Perhaps commendably, these little twiddlers don't want to allow the same email address on an ipad to start anything new, whilst at the same time won't allow continuation of the previous arrangement. If this was dealing with anything financial it would be a commendable commitment to security.
If insoluble, the inconvenience is not much, as long as one computer allows me to keep asking and learning. Of the various anorak, oops, specialist, sites I use, this forum under lockdown constraints is by a country mile the best. We seem to be active, cheerful and wholly optimistic, there is also the magnificent historical work, with brilliant discoveries. Thanks to all.
