I think Colin is right there are very few straight lines. The widest point (on our car at least) is across the front of the rear wings and the front of the car is considerably narrower than the back. Remember too that the sides are quite "barrelled" so the floor is narrower than the waistline.

Nevertheless the drawing should give you a starting point for your designs.
